Mark Allison started karting in 1991 in clubmans. In 1992 he moved to 100 Supers where he finished 5th in the transvaal championships. He has had no racing experience prior to 1991 karting.
He left 100supers mid 1992 to start racing in Sports 2000 where he had his first race in July 1992 in which he qualified 12th and finished 5th and set the third fastest time. He went on to win the 1993 championship in his first full season and won the 1994 championship the following year. He finished 3rd in the 1995 championship and 2nd in the 1996 championship and was awarded the Victor Ladorum for 1996 by the Sports car club.
In 1997 he raced in the Polo Cup one-make series and achieved some notable placings while adapting to front wheel drive "tin-tops" in this highly competitive class of +-30 drivers. He was awarded for his season with the Stephan Lamprecht Floating Trophy for effort and dedication. In 1998 he was appointed as an Audi High Performance Driving Instructor and is currently active as an instructor on HPDC courses. His 1998 racing season only consisted of a few races due to lack of sponsorship funding but a lot is expected from the 1999 season as a sponsor has been forthcoming in the form of 1sa.com. This has allowed Quinten Bergh to be brought on full time as Team Manager with his legendary car preparation skills such as helping Reghard Roets to his first Polo win and winning streak in the later part of 1998 .
